On October 25th, 2008, SRAC officially opened it’s Exhibit Hall at our Center located at 345 Broad Street in Waverly, NY.  The Exhibit Hall is jam-packed with thousands of local Native American artifacts. It is the largest display in the region! Visitors with a real interest in our region’s Native American and prehistoric past are advised to plan to spend at least an hour for your visit!photo(76)

Here are just a few images of our massive collection on display:

(Some even have videos as well!) Visit us on Tuesdays and the area’s foremost collector and avocational archaeologist, Ted Keir is giving tours!

How to View the Current Exhibits: Exhibits are available to be viewed from 1-5pm Tuesdays through Fridays and Saturdays from 10-5pm. General admission is free and donations are accepted – How to become an SRAC member

Talk to a Specialist: SRAC has many specialists on not only the Native American artifacts that we exhibit, but also people who can answer questions about our local prehistory and history as well as geology, paleontology, and lithics.  These people rotate at the Center on regular schedules so that when you visit our Exhibit Hall, you can talk to someone about the artifacts on display or have them answer questions about a specific artifact you have. If you have a specific question on any of these topics, call ahead to schedule a time to meet with someone knowledgeable on your topic by calling 607-565-7960.

Tours: We have someone on staff most everyday we are open to give you a personal tour. Bus and group tours are also welcome but we ask that you call ahead with groups larger than 10 people if possible so that we can schedule a dedicated time for your group ( we do charge a small fee for group tours).

Kids and Students:  We have many kid friendly areas during our tour. We also have a kids quiz that they can take and they always win great prizes!
